The Department of Government Has Moved!

Friday and Monday, between September 25 and 28, the Department of Government moved offices.

We are now happily ensconed in the Beckham building in the two towers closest to the Miller building.  We also have updated IT.

Meet Chris Cyr

Chris Christopher Cyr Eastern Kentucky University EKU International Relations

Dr. Chris Cyr comes to EKU from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  A scholar of civil wars, insurgencies, and protests, he is stepping into the International Relations and Political Violence classes, and we’re glad to have him join the Department of Government.

Welcome back for Fall 2015!  The Department of Government is happy to welcome back our returning students and welcome all our incoming freshmen for the class of 2019.  As always, the faculty have been busy over the summer -planning classes, trying to enjoy vacations, and for three new faculty members, moving to Richmond.

Another year has passed in the Department of Government, and a busy year it’s been.  As it goes by, it seems like a blur, but now that finals are graded and marks uploaded to the registrar, it’s worth looking back at everything we’ve done.



First Amendment Week 2015

Every year the Department of Communication and the Department of Government host First Amendement week to celebrate the freedoms of speech, press, religion, and assembly.  This year, the events were held between April 13 and 16 across the EKU Campus.

After a crazy winter, which regrettably canceled the department's plans for the Kentucky Political Science Association meeting, the EKU Department of Government has several events upcoming for Spring 2015.


Madison County Governent Internship, Deadline February 20

The Madison County Fiscal Court is now accepting applications from talented graduate and undergraduate students for Spring 2015.  Internships run 8 weeks starting March 2.  Internships are unpaid, but they can count towards college credit.

Welcome Back for Spring 2015

The Department of Government is happy to welcome back all our students for the Spring 2015 semester.  We’ve enjoyed the long break, but now we’re excited to be back for our classes and our new students.
