First Amendment Week 2016

In the first week of March, EKU held its annual celebration of the First Amendment.  The Department of Government and the Department of Communication combined to discuss free speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, and the right of petition across campus for the entire week.

Dr. Darrin Wilson comes to EKU from Florida Atlantic University, but EKU is really home to him.  Originally from Laurel County, Dr. Wilson joins the department to teach community development and public finance –topics near to his heart and home here in Eastern Kentucky.

Professors in the Department of Government do not only teach their classes.  Research and service are also an important part of the job.  Through research academics hone their knowledge of their subjects, improving their teaching and advancing the collected understanding of the world.  They also share this information with their colleagues so new information and ideas can spread

The Department of Government Has Moved!

Friday and Monday, between September 25 and 28, the Department of Government moved offices.

We are now happily ensconed in the Beckham building in the two towers closest to the Miller building.  We also have updated IT.
